He stood to the side as I embraced his wife
You’re so grown up she said. How old are you now?
Seventeen. - in a couple of months
You were just a child it seems like only yesterday
Yes I know; I said smiling and pulled away from her embrace
He stood to the side avoiding my space
Do you remember the times you stayed with us? she asked
I hesitated; this moment unrehearsed
Her face so eager for the child to surface
Then I smiled and turned my head to address his stare
Yes I remember… everything. I said
