Colour Me
There was a time ‘I am’ lived in the child
each moment began a different colour of true
I am colours of prime pure innocence of mind
heart and soul
colour me wonderful
See the child learn the program in play
the lesson begins on a palette of themes
A human experience is showing the way
waiting to surface
colour me grey
Every waking day someone paints a notion
a little bit of they a bit of them in motion
I’m changing colour to blend their way
biding their time
colours my Now
See the girl see the boy take aim with their toy
terror runs through the veins of our youth
And the people paint freedom
on a wall of disdain
In the city of greed
colour me bleed
See the leaders stand tall cries of victory for all
but the force still lives on
for a forgotten cause
and mothers still weep for their sons and daughters
We learnt how
colour me empty now
Every waking day someone paints a notion
a little bit of they a bit of them in motion
We’re changing colour to blend their way
doing their time
colour me blind
And futility comes as a state of mind
it crept in while you were sleeping
And they say you can’t change it now
there must be a way
colour me how
A father holds a son in loving embrace
the bridges are burnt to the darker place
A grandfather’s voice is the wisdom of themes
See the child learn the program from a palette of peace
There was a time ‘I am’ lived in the child
every waking day someone paints a notion
colour me.....colour me
Every moment is mine to claim and I’ll make it
a little bit of me a bit of them in motion.
colour me.....colour me
I’m changing colour to blend my way
beneath the surface ‘I am’ lays waiting….
Colour me rainbow again.
