Crooked Path

Today I walked a crooked path

its edges lined exotic grass

In muse and deed back and forth

I passed the was; what came before

Through forest mist and needle pine

through debris of twig and tangled vine

I felt the sun upon my face

I touched the snow and drank of rain

I ate the berry bitter sweet

of familiar fears and forgotten dreams
