Hindsight - a fine line between enlightenment and regret
It seems when a catastrophe impacts our lifestyle that shakes our global tree; our best effort is to pull the tragedy to pieces and forever hang on its mystery; an investigating frenzy ensues, impelling some of our learned scholars to scurry to the ancient archives and regurgitate the prophecies of the likes of Nostradamus. Dissecting these prophetic writings ( in the hope to prove a recent tragedy was foretold by an ancient scribe) is puzzling. Seems a bit odd bringing it to our attention after the fact - after all; inferring a prophetic writing ' told us so' is not exactly something to celebrate rather it should bring us to question the state of the intellect of our species, that is to say; is there a point to suggesting credibility in a Prophetic writing when we have no intention of heeding its counsel?
I have pondered on the possibility these scribes could very well be blessed with insightful powers and do not discount the possibility. However I have also pondered the possibility the reason there seems a constant link to our current affairs, in these Prophetic writings, is due to their cryptic; making them an ageless reference, and the real tragedy is, we will always be able to suggest something visionary in these writings and link them to a recent catastrophe - in any era, simply because our species continues to make the same mindless decisions that gives rise to create and cause seriously tragic consequences to our lifestyle on a global scale. Just a thought....
